Every candle warmer listing makes the same two promises: it’s safer than a flame, and your candles last longer. The first one is mostly true. The second one is true in a way the listings don’t explain, and it changes how you should use one.
Short answer: A candle warmer is better than burning when safety and soot matter most: there’s no open flame, and the wax melts instead of burning away. But the candle doesn’t really last longer. The wax stays, the fragrance slowly evaporates, and you end up with a full jar that no longer smells. Use a warmer with a timer, keep it under four hours at a time, and burn the candle when you want the flame itself.
